About Me

My photo
As many of you already know, Zach fell off his skateboard on Saturday Sept. 6th. As a result of the fall, Zach suffered a traumatic, closed head injury and is listed in critical condition in the ICU at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Zach is currently under sedation and being kept in a paralytic state to help keep his intra cranial pressure as low as possible, which will help decrease the swelling in his brain. He has been placed in a RotoProne bed, which will help his lungs combat pneumonia which recently set in. Everyone is hopeful and optimistic regarding Zach’s long-term prognosis. The Monday after the accident, Zach was able to move his legs, arms, toes and even squeezed his mother’s hand on command. He has a long journey to recovery ahead of him, but he has his youth, great caretakers and a large group of friends and loved ones rooting for him. His family will be keeping this blog in an attempt to keep all of Zach’s friends and loved ones up to date on his condition. Please check back often as we will try to provide daily updates. You may also post your own comments and please know that Zach will read them soon.

Happy Halloween

For Halloween Zach dressed up as a Surgeon. To be exact he was a surgeon of radiology. All the staff called him Dr. Wright throughout the day. As for an update he continues to improve and has received orders to no longer use the wheelchair. He is desperately counting the days until he goes home.
Zach checks the blog whenever he gets a chance and loves reading all your messages!

Hi Zach,
You are looking gr8. You are a miracle man or a medical marvel, or maybe both.
Tell all of your pals to get out there and vote for the next president so that all can have gr8 medical service available WHEN they need help.
Give Mom and Angela a bear hug 4 us.

Hi Zach,
You DID dress up for Halloween and you looked totally appropriate for the setting you are in. We do, however, prefer your cow costume! We eagerly await your first blog entry from home, which we hope will be VERY soon. Your recovery has been truly awe-inspiring. Keep up the great work.
With love from the Webber family

looking great zach.. yes previous blogger is right..about the health care.. the 8o,000 and acellerating illegal immigrants in charlotte are anxiously awaiting more thorough health care paid for by others. It will be refreshing to deal with "snippy" clerks like the ones at the DMV who have no incentive to be efficient or cost effective to help facilitate my jounney thru what will hopefilly soon become the biggest expense to the US Government in its history. Yu think medicare is efficient..this will be swell! We have been so shortsighted to disenfranschise 45 million who chooe not to purchase healthcare as well as the 25 miillion illegal immigrants who close not to as well. Maybe then the folks in canada, who by the way dont have to pull the weight of 3rd of their nation, can start staying home instead of having to come over hear to get immediate care.Hopefully in 5 years health care will start to have to be rationed. Ill bet there are similar numbers of those who dont purchase car insurance, Home insurance , Vacation homes , transportation that we can help augment. it'll be swell.

zach If you can make a december panther game we have a seat for you. your a fighter.
